Amazing!!!! This made me so nostalgic for my own worlds and maps when I loved detailed world building as a teen. Your output & dedication is seriously impressive. I’m sure you’ve read Leaf by Niggle (as i saw in your other posts that you are a Tolkien fan) but it made me think of that patient dedication to that luscious, sprawling art. I hope you’ll share more about Dragonstone as well as your process :) it was so inspiring and lovely to see
Aw thank you so much! <3 I haven't read Leaf by Niggle yet (I know... what am I even doing with my life? haha) but I definitely want to. Your words were a bright spot of encouragement today and it's warming to know my post rekindled fond memories for you. When it comes to my writing, I definitely fall into the "can't see the forest for the trees" sometimes and getting feedback really helps to bring me out of that. I do have some plans in the works for how I might go about sharing more of Dragonstone and the world of Quaison here on Substack, so keep an eye out - maybe as soon as this week! ;D
I fully recommend Leaf By Niggle but save it for a day where you don’t feel any ounce of self doubt about your work. It’s existential crisis-inducing for those of us with big projects - but also comforting to know that Tolkien felt that way too🤣 and I totally understand what you mean, when a project is SO big and so intertwined with your life its so easy to be like ‘is this even any good???? I can’t even see this project anymore’ - I’ve been learning (very slowly) that reaching out is key!! I will definitely be keeping an eye out!!
Haha oh boy - duly noted! I'll read Leaf by Niggle with caution 😅 👍 I definitely need to reach out more than I have been - I'm starting to feel like Substack is a safe space to do that though! 😉
One of my favorite things in the world is the thought process behind a writer's work!! I love seeing your maps and it's so exciting to hear your progress--I can visualize the stacks of notebooks and full computer drives, lol! I look forward to reading more about Dragonstone. I also think your working titles sound awesome! :D

Thanks! 🤗 I'm kinda in a "now what?" moment, lol, but I'll hopefully have more Dragonstone stuff to share soon. 😉
